Airport Master Plan Update & Airport Layout Plan

Black Hills Airport – Clyde Ice Field (SPF) is in the process of updating the Airport Master Plan and completing an electronic Airport Layout Plan (eALP). KLJ in Rapid City is the firm conducting the Master Plan.

The Airport Master Plan was last completed in 2000 and the most recent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved Airport Layout Plan was completed in 2006.  The Master Plan is a comprehensive study of an airport and usually describes the short-, medium-, and long term development plans to meet future aviation demand.  The eALP is a graphical depiction of the facilities existing and planned at the airport.

For Black Hills Airport – Clyde Ice Field, both the Lawrence County Airport Board and City of Spearfish were each involved in this planning effort.

The chapters, appendices and eALP of the Master Plan document were drafted and approved by the airport board.  Linked below is the draft of these documents submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration for review in May 2016.    Please note that file sizes may be large and download times will vary depending on internet connection speed.
