The Spearfish Rec & Aquatics center wants to be an after-school destination for youth 9+years. We will once again provide After School Activities for the kids.
With the COVID-19 concerns and CDC guidelines, there will be some changes starting on Tuesday September 8th.
Youth will enter the Rec Center and have their temperatures taken upon arrival. If their temperature is above 100.4 the parent will be contacted to pick up their child as soon as possible and they will not be allowed in the gym. If a child is showing any symptoms of sickness their parents will be contacted.
The gym will be broken into two sides with 20 kids allowed on each half. Recreation assistants will be available to provide supervision and assistance with games and activities from the hours of 3:15 – 5:30pm weekdays. Youth will be allowed to move from one location to another if space allows.
There will Not be a snack provided this year and limited concession items will be available at the check- in counter.
We are working hard to keep our facility clean and sanitized. The gym and all other touch surfaces will be cleaned/sanitized daily at 2:30 before the kids arrive, and at 5:30 once most kids have left. Hand sanitizer will always be provided and must be used before entering the gym space. Balls and other equipment will be checked out and cleaned/sanitized before the next person can use it.
Please discuss these changes with your child to assure there is a smooth transition the first few weeks of school. Youth will need to check in at the front desk. Members need to bring their scan tags to check in. Non-members will need to purchase the $3 day pass and sign the waiver listing your contact information in case of an emergency.
Please check out our website www.cityofspearfish.com/recreation for upcoming clinics or activities to register for.
