Volunteer opportunities are a meaningful way to give back to your community. Volunteering positively impacts public areas and neighborhoods, improves relationships, and creates connections, all while increasing the quality of life for City of Spearfish residents.
Join our volunteers who assist the City of Spearfish workforce to enhance services to the public.
Eligibility Requirements
The minimum eligibility requirements are:
- Volunteers must be at least sixteen (16) years of age, unless accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or designated group/organization leader.
- Volunteers must successfully complete a background check prior to being allowed to volunteer with the City of Spearfish.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are occasionally available at the Recreation and Aquatics Center, Library, Parks and Recreation, Police Department, and Fire Department. If you have interest in volunteering within these departments please complete the Application to Volunteer form.
In addition, volunteer opportunities are occasionally available for the following boards and commissions: Parks, Recreation and Forestry Advisory Board, Library Board of Trustees, Council on the Arts and Humanities, Historic Preservation Commission, Arts in Public Places Committee, and Planning Commission.
