Summer Reading 2021
Join in on the programs and activities happening this summer at the Library!
Summer Reading starts June 6 for all ages. There are a couple of ways to complete the challenge this summer. You can either log your minutes using ReadSquared or print or pick up a paper log at the Library. To use ReadSquared, download the app from your device's App Store or track minutes online at https://spearfishlibrary.readsquared.com/ You can register your entire family. However you track, minutes must be turned in by July 31 to receive your prizes and be entered into the grand prize drawings.
Ages Birth to 12
For every 250 minutes read, you will receive a prize. When you have read 1,000 minutes, you will receive a prize bag and be entered into the grand prize drawings. Every 250 minutes read after the 1,000 will get you another entry into the drawings.
Ages Teen & Adults
For every 250 points earned (either by tracking minutes or pages read), you will receive a prize. When you have earned 1,000 points, you will receive a prize bag and be entered into the grand prize drawings. Every 250 points earned after the 1,000 will get you another entry into the drawings.
Want to earn extra entries? Keep an eye out for secret codes at various library programs, scavenger hunts, and community partners this summer! These secret codes can be entered anytime on ReadSquared (or talk to a librarian if using a paper log) to give you BONUS points. These bonus points will go towards additional prize entries AFTER you hit the 1,000 points earned by reading.
The Library will be offering a variety of programs and activities for all ages throughout the months of June and July.
