Sponsorships available to build amenities for current, future generations
SPEARFISH, SD – You can help to “Finish the Vision” at the Spearfish Sportsplex at Sky Ridge by becoming an individual or corporate sponsor!
“The Spearfish Sportsplex at Sky Ridge will be a permanent landmark for our community and the northern Black Hills region,” Parks and Recreation Director Tyler Ehnes said. “With upwards of 600 Spearfish youth soccer and softball players and more than 800 adult softball players in Spearfish, this complex will meet the current and future needs of our community. Local, state, and regional tournaments that were unattainable before due to limited field space will now be possible in Spearfish.”
The “Finish the Vision” sponsorship campaign is driven by a volunteer committee made up of local sports association members and Spearfish Park, Recreation, and Forestry Advisory Board members who have the goal of raising $2 million to help build amenities that will set the Spearfish sportsplex apart, making it a premier recreational space.
Ehnes explained how sponsorship is an exceptional opportunity for businesses.
“By becoming an individual or corporate sponsor, you support recreational sports in our area by offsetting the costs associated with the construction of the facility, while demonstrating a commitment to the betterment of Spearfish,” he said. “Sponsors have a guaranteed audience of thousands of athletic-minded youth and adults, their coaches, families, and friends, resulting in increased visibility, top-of-mind awareness, and new customers.”
The sportsplex, part of the Sky Ridge development being constructed off of Exit 17, will contain six soccer fields (one of which will be a championship-style field) that can be broken down into 18 smaller fields; four regulation-size softball fields and four fenced softball bullpens; ample restroom facilities that are ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant; two concession stands; picnic structure; and more than 450 parking spaces, with a designated parking area for food trucks.
Ehnes said that once constructed, the sportsplex is anticipated to draw 80,000 visitors to Spearfish annually for regular, league, and large tournament games to be held at the complex.
The “Finish the Vision” sponsorship drive recently launched a website, www.spearfishsportsplex.com, to highlight the sponsorship opportunities, which include the naming rights for the sportsplex, softball fields, soccer fields, concession stand, boulevard entrance, parking entrance, parking area entrances, picnic shelter, shad structure, and bullpen, as well as Forever Brick sponsorships. Each sponsorship includes a duration, number of availabilities, cost, and specific sponsorship benefits, which are described on the website. Contributions above $25,000 will be recognized at the complex on a founding sponsor sign prominently and permanently displayed.
“There are many ways to support and market your business through the Spearfish sportsplex and demonstrate your support for youth in our community!” Ehnes said. “Current and future athletes thank you for your sponsorship.”
