[ARCHIVED] Upcoming holiday schedules and changes


SPEARFISH, SD - Happy holidays! Please note the upcoming holiday schedules and changes regarding City office closures, garbage route schedules, Christmas tree drop off locations, and cardboard disposal.

City office/department closures:

Spearfish City offices and departments will be closed Friday, December 24th and Friday,  December 31st.  Grace Balloch Memorial Library will also be closed Saturday, December 25th and Saturday,  January 1st.

Garbage route schedule changes:

Garbage routes normally collected on Fridays will be collected on Thursday, December 23rd, and Thursday, December 30th during the holiday weeks. The rest of the week's garbage collection schedule will remain the same.

Christmas tree drop off locations, December 27-January 10th:

The City will provide three drop off locations for Christmas tree disposal from December 27th through January 10th. The locations include: The corner of Roughlock Lane and Snowy Peak Lane in Mountain Shadow Estates; Spearfish City Shop at 440 Canyon Street;  and the Restricted Use Site at 910 Camp Comfort Road. There will be no curbside pickup for Christmas trees.

Cardboard Disposal December 28-30th:

Curbside pickup for cardboard disposal will be December 28-30th. Please place cardboard at your regular pickup site on your garbage day. This pickup service will be for cardboard disposal only.  Reminder: Friday, December 31st routes will be picked up on Thursday, December 30th.
