City of Spearfish

SPEARFISH, SD - The City of Spearfish is hiring for upcoming seasonal positions. Visit the our Career Opportunities page for more information about each of the positions, listed below by department.

Fire Department Wildland Firefighters: 

$15.00 per hour (higher while on remote assignments)
Requirements: Ability to pass NWCG Arduous Work Capacity Test (Pack Test). Completion of NWCG S-130 & S-190 training prior to start date (must provide proof of training). Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving history. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must be 18 years of age or older.

Public Works/Parks Department Laborers: 

$15.00 per hour
Includes: Wastewater Treatment Facility; Cemetery; Parks, Recreation, & Forestry; Spectator Recreation; Water/Wastewater Utility laborers.
Requirements: Laborers will work 40 hours per week unless noted otherwise. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age before date of hire. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving history.

Campground:

Campground Attendant: (30-40 hours per week), $10.00 per hour (with site) $15.00 per hour (without site)
Campground Assistant Manager: (35-40 hours per week), $15.50 per hour (with site) $16.25 per hour (without site)

Recreation and Aquatics Center:

Summer Recreation Assistant (30-40 hours per week) $14.00 per hour
Summer Customer Service Assistant (20-40 hours per week) $14.00 per hour
Recreation Facility Janitorial (30-40 hours per week) $15.00 per hour
Lifeguard Coordinator (35-40 hours per week) $15.50 per hour
Lifeguard (20-40 hours per week) $14.50 per hour
Lifeguard w/WSI (20-40 hours per week) $15.00 per hour
Requirements: Summer Customer Service Assistants, Lifeguards, and Recreation Facility Janitorial must be at least 16 years of age, and all other positions must be at least 18 years of age, before date of hire. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license with an insurable driving history. Hours can be weather dependent.
