John Senden

I am John Senden the current Mayor of Spearfish. It is an honor to represent this great City and the citizens of Spearfish. On behalf of the entire community, I welcome you who are visiting as well as those moving here to make this your home. I invite you to explore our historic downtown, visit our many parks and enjoy local shopping and dining with so many great options available to you.

Spearfish has been a destination spot for so many years. With beautiful Spearfish Canyon, excellent trout fishing, great hiking and mountain biking trails all around this is truly an outdoor enthusiast’s haven for rest and relaxation. Home to Black Hills State University and many growing small businesses, Spearfish is a community with a combination of beauty and opportunity.  While a growing community, our goal is always to keep the “small town “ feel and value the historic past of our Western SD heritage.

My wife Linda and I have enjoyed every part of making this our home over the last 26 years. Having raised four children here, Spearfish will be our home for years to come. We hope that you will find your experience here in Spearfish to be as awesome as ours has been.
